What is in a fragrance Oil?

Our candle fragrance oils consist of many aromatic ingredients, some natural and some synthetic, blended By perfumers’ in Australia. Natural components are extracted from plants and flowers and synthetic Components are manufactured from man made materials. 

 

Each fragrance oil has a top note, a middle note and a base note. This means there are three notes that in Perfect combination are what makes a fragrance lasting and appealing.

 

Top Note:

This is the initial impression the fragrance oil makes when you first smell a candle or remove the lid.

It is the most volatile, meaning it will evaporate the quickest.

 

Middle Note:

The middle note is the ‘heart’ of the fragrance. It can take 10-20 minutes for the middle notes to fully Develop. When you are burning a candle, the middle notes are the most prominent.

 

Base Note: 

The base notes are what gives a candle lasting qualities. It is the scent that lingers even after the Candle has been extinguished.

 

With any scent, everyone’s senses will react differently. This means that every person will smell Each fragrance differently to the next. 

 

For example:

WHITE MUSK 

Fragrance Description: A smooth and sensuous musk fragrance with a floral twist that includes ylang ylang, rose and lily of the valley.

 

Top Notes: Peach, Clove

Middle Notes: Ylang Ylang, Lily of the Valley

Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla, Vetiver

 

Based on a customer survey:

Some clients were able to smell the peach aspect of the fragrance when burning.

Others could only smell the spice of the Clove, whilst to others it was a humbling, subtle floral scent.

 

Some peoples senses to smell are more sensitive then others.
